Alex Zhang Eliminated in 8th Place ($22,589)
Niveau 33
: Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Alex Zhang raised to 800,000 from under the gun and the action folded to big blind Michael Liang, who defended.
The flop was dealt 6♠J♥10♣ and Liang checked to Zhang, who put out a continuation-bet for 1,200,000. Liang then jammed, covering Zhang's 3,800,000 stack and Zhang made the call.
Alex Zhang: A♥A♦
Michael Liang: 10♠8♠
Zhang's aces had a strong lead on the middle pair of Liang, and the J♣ turn did not change anything about that fact. However, the brutal 10♥ river saw Liang being the only one to upgrade his two pair to a full house, and he cracked Zhang's pocket aces to eliminate him in eight place.
